Adding more lockers to a changing room does not always improve its use. People need sufficient room to change, set down bags and use benches at the same time. Begin the brief with the users and their belongings, rather than the locker count.

Materials and their environment

Fundermax uses compact HPL panels in sports facilities and commercial lockers, highlighting moisture resistance and cleanable surfaces in this product group. Ventilation and hardware for the finished locker still require separate design.

Describe a typical day of use

Does a person use the locker all day, or does it change users every hour? Coats, helmets, shoes and small bags may require different internal layouts. Consider long-item compartments separately from small personal storage.

An assigned locker may suit a staff area, while a short-stay visitor facility may need different lock management. Discuss lost keys, lock replacement and staff access rights at the first meeting.

Position benches and doors together

A bench in front of a locker door can restrict movement. Assess the open door, seated person and circulation route as well as the locker body on the plan. Do not overlook floor-cleaning access.

Where damp clothing will be stored, ventilation must be addressed through both building and locker design. A moisture-suitable panel alone does not resolve problems caused by storing wet belongings. Check maintenance access on a sample locker.

Before you decide

  • List user turnover and the dimensions of belongings.
  • Agree lock management with the operator.
  • Check open doors, benches and circulation on the same drawing.

Sources and scope

Manufacturer sources were reviewed on 24 September 2026. Brand and product properties in those sources do not automatically represent performance or certification claims for Mat Kabin products. Planning advice is general information; final selections should be based on the current technical documents for the specific product.
