Furniture on a covered veranda faces different conditions from furniture in a garden exposed to rain. Start outdoor selection by listing the actual exposure conditions. This clarifies care and usage expectations as well as appearance.
Verify the exterior application class
Fundermax recommends exterior-grade panels such as Max Compact Exterior for outdoor furniture. This does not mean an interior panel with the same name or colour is suitable outdoors. The quotation should state exterior suitability explicitly.
Source: Fundermax — Furniture and other exterior applicationsDescribe the precise location
Tell the supplier about direct sun, permanent shade, rainfall exposure and coastal conditions. Check the suitability of legs, fixings and coated parts as well as the panel.
Consider the terrace’s daily routine. Will products be moved frequently, stored at the end of the season or repositioned for cleaning? Weight, lifting points and storage space affect the choice. Ask about folding or stacking for the specific model rather than assuming it.
Include care in the purchasing decision
Add the manufacturer’s cleaning and storage instructions to the handover file. As well as keeping surfaces clean, the operator’s maintenance plan should include checking for water and dirt collecting at joints.
Where possible, assess samples in the space’s own light. Green panels and natural stone may look different in morning and evening light. Test comfort too: seat depth, back support and table access cannot be judged from a photograph alone.
Before you decide
- Describe the product’s actual outdoor exposure.
- Ask about the suitability of legs and fixings as well as panels.
- Plan moving, storage and maintenance.
Sources and scope
Manufacturer sources were reviewed on 24 September 2026. Brand and product properties in those sources do not automatically represent performance or certification claims for Mat Kabin products. Planning advice is general information; final selections should be based on the current technical documents for the specific product.
