A façade is the face of a building seen from a distance, but long-term results are often determined by unseen details. Subframes, fixings and building conditions are as much part of the project as panel colour and joint rhythm.
Choose a product suitable for exterior façades
Trespa describes Meteon as exterior HPL cladding developed for ventilated façades. This illustrates why façade panels have a defined application class. It should not be taken to mean that every compact laminate can be used on a façade.

Wind loads, building height, fixings and fire requirements must be assessed for the project by specialists. These decisions cannot be made from an image or general blog article. Share the manufacturer’s current system documents with the project designer.
Request technical sheets and system details for the selected Core X compact façade product too. Another manufacturer’s classification or test result must not be transferred to a different product in the same colour or material family.
View colours and joints at full scale
Panel direction and light angle can change the perception of large surfaces. Where possible, assess samples in the intended façade orientation and at different times of day. Do not leave corners, window surrounds and entrances to the overall elevation alone.
Before installation, gather approved details, panel layouts and the maintenance plan in one file. How a future replacement panel will be sourced and removed is also worth discussing with the operator.
Before you decide
- Request product and system documents for exterior use.
- Have the project team verify support and fixing decisions.
- Evaluate corners and opening details with samples.
Sources and scope
Manufacturer sources were reviewed on 24 September 2026. Brand and product properties in those sources do not automatically represent performance or certification claims for Mat Kabin products. Planning advice is general information; final selections should be based on the current technical documents for the specific product.
